Gainesville man arrested on drug-related charges

A Gainesville man who served prison time for a drug-related convictions was arrested late Thursday night with the drug ecstasy and with marijuana that he intended to sell at a downtown nightclub, police Lt. Jorge Campos said.

Kevyn Terry, 36, of Gainesville, was charged with possession of the drugs at 11:30 p.m. following a traffic stop at 501 SE 18th St., Campos said.

Officers Warren Meek and Sara Muse found several packets of marijuana and 27 ecstasy pills, Campos said. He added that Terry told police he intended to sell them at a nightclub.

The Florida Department of Corrections website shows Terry served time cocaine and weapons violations.
