Led the Bobcats to a fourth-place finish in district, 14th in regionals and 19th at state. Made the Bobcats competitive, led by 285-pound state runner-up Deontrae Neal, the school's first state finalist in 16 years. Said longtime Gainesville coach Ryland Wagner: “He and his staff were competitive and active in the off-season and fielded their best team I have seen in my 20 years at Gainesville High School.”

The Gainesville Sun all-area teams, players of the year and coaches of the year were selected by high school sports editor Larry Savage with help from area coaches. If a team is not represented, it is because the coach did not respond to repeated emails sent to the school requesting information and numerous reminders in the newspaper.
