North Florida Regional Medical Center confirmed that it has laid off “less than 1 percent” of its total workforce recently but would not say how many people lost their jobs.
According to the latest published information, the hospital had about 1,700 employees.
Director of Marketing Pamela Rittenhouse said the hospital implemented a “small, planned restructure in workforce following a period review of our positions and community health-care needs.”
She said the layoffs were primarily nonclinical positions and they do not anticipate any impact on patient care.
