AUSTIN, Texas — When the regional sites were first announced, I was hoping like heck for Austin. So here we are in a college town with an edge.

I have been here twice before — once to cover an Auburn-Texas game and once on my 50th birthday. My wife's present to me was to take me to a game because we never get to go to one together and we came here for a Texas-Texas A&M game.

I really like Austin and Sixth Street is one of the most amazing places you can see. It's all bars and tattoo shops and — to be honest — a lot of homeless people. The music is tremendous.

Unfortunately, I missed the South By Southwest music festival here. Green Day was among the bands to play it.

I also got a recommendation from Florida football coach Will Muschamp, who lived here for a while. I'm going to try that place out today.

But first, there's a lot of work to be done. Interviews at the Erwin Center go all day. Did I mention how much I love being at the NCAA Tournament?
