A Lake City bank was robbed Monday of an undisclosed amount of cash and authorities are still searching for the culprit.

Police spokesman Steve Shaw said the robbery occurred around noon at the Bank of America at 2357 W. U.S. 90. The man told a teller he was committing a robbery and demanded large bills.

He left with the money and no one was injured, Shaw said in a press release.

The robber was described as a 6-foot-tall, 40- to 50-year-old white man. He wore a dark blue shirt and dark blue pants, and possibly a wig.

Police canvassed the area but were unable to find the culprit.

Anyone with information should contact investigator Mitchell Cline or leave a tip anonymously at 386-719-2068.
