Election Day in Gainesville began with no problems despite occasional rain, Elections Supervisor Pam Carpenter said.
“Everything got off to a very smooth start,” Carpenter said. “We had a few people waiting at the polls when they opened, and we were excited about that. We certainly hope the rain doesn’t discourage people from coming out.”
Voters citywide can cast ballots for mayor while those in District 4 can chose a city commissioner.
The polls will close at 7 p.m. For more information go to www.votealachua.com. See complete coverage at www.gainesville.com/elections.
