Applications being accepted to replace retired judge

Applications to replace retired 8th Judicial Circuit Judge Martha A. Lott are now being accepted, the circuit nominating commission announced Tuesday, with a deadline for receipt of the applications being 5 p.m. April 4.
To be considered, applicants must meet the constitutional requirements for the court: be a member in good standing of the Florida bar for the preceding five years; be a resident of the 8th Judicial Circuit; and be a registered Florida voter.
Application packages can be found on the bar’s website, www.floridabar.org.
Completed, original applications and nine copies must be delivered by the deadline to Chairman Paul Donnelly, c/o Donnelly & Gross, P.A., 2421 NW 41 St., Suite A-1, Gainesville, FL 32606.
After the deadline, the nominating commission will contact applicants to be interviewed to confirm a time, date and location.
