Dates: June 10-Aug. 2. Summer lessons are 45 minutes.

Howard Bishop Middle School Summer Band Academy: The Summer Band Academy offers instruction on wind and percussion instruments for students entering fifth grade, joining the band program at their middle school or for incoming high school freshman who want to brush up on their skills before marching band camps begin in the fall. Instruction is also available for advanced students who are already part of their school's band program.
Dates: June 17-28.
Hours: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Ages: Incoming fifth- to ninth-graders.
Cost: $175 for the two-week session (includes lunch), if paid by June 1. After June 1, the cost is $200. A one-week option is also available at $90 before June 1 and $100 after June 1.

Gainesville Youth Chorus Summer Music Workshops: The following three sessions are available. "In the Spotlight" (9 a.m.-noon): Designed to refine existing vocal performance skills while teaching more advanced techniques. "Picnic with the Directors" (lunch): Want to take both sessions? Bring a brown bag lunch, spend time with the directors and accompanists, and learn what it takes to be part of an artistic staff. "GYC and Broadway" (1-4 p.m.): Brush off those dancing shoes and sing and dance to Broadway show tunes. This session will focus on basic choreography and individual and ensemble "Broadway"- style singing.
Dates: June 10-13.
Cost: $125 per session (no audition necessary).
