B'nai Israel Community Day School Summer Camp: Children participate in summer fun, including water play, dramatic play, outdoor fun and more.

Sonshine Day Summer Camp 2013: An exciting summer program full of Bible lessons, creative activities, arts and crafts, clubs, gym time, sports, field trips and more. Students receive quality care and learning in a Christian environment.

Gainesville Country Day School: This camp offers elementary students an opportunity to experience an enriching, exciting and fun summer. The talented and creative faculty acts as camp counselors, while the after-school staff helps with specialty classes and athletic games and clinics. Student-selected activities include mad science, arts and crafts, top chef, technology trains and many more, with a carnival every Friday. Gainesville Country Day school also offers a summer preschool.

Dates: May 28-Aug. 2.

Hours: Full- and part-time options available from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Ages: Preschool and elementary students.

Millhopper Montessori School Camp: This camp offers an enriching and exciting day camp for preschoolers through high schoolers. Program activities include specialty classes, sports, theater, weekly educational fun themes, arts and crafts, music, playground fun and special events which revolve around a variety of themes. The program's focus is the Montessori hands-on curriculum. Every Friday is splash day, a fun-filled hour of water activities, and there are thematic dress-up days on Thursdays. High school students can volunteer as a Junior Counselor and earn volunteer hours required for graduation.

Camp Good News: Camp Good News offers a summer program with activities that include swimming, water slides, fishing, archery, scooter/skating, basketball, a climbing wall and arts and crafts; amenities include a large, multi-purpose activity field, bike trail and outdoor game pavilion. Campers learn life skills gleaned from the Bible and the adventures of missionaries from around the world.

Dates: June 10-Aug. 16.

Hours: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., with early morning drop-off at 7 a.m. and late pick-up by 6 p.m. Children can be dropped off directly at camp or at several convenient pick-up locations, including Westside Park in Gainesville.

Heart Pine School Summer Camp: Three sessions available for children, including "Urban Nature" (June 17-21), "Puppetry," (June 24-28) and "Cooking up the Future with a Little Taste of History" (July 8-12).

Oak Hall Summer Program: Program open to the Gainesville community has more than 100 sessions and 17 new camps to choose from. Camps available in art, drama, enrichment, sports, summer studies and technology. Five summer camp package deals are new this year.

VBS at Trinity United Methodist: Children are invited to celebrate God's welcoming love for everyone at the "Everywhere Fun Fair VBS," where God's world comes together. Children learn to love and serve God and be a neighbor to the world.

Ages: Completed first- to sixth-graders.

Cost: $189.

Cross Champions Camp: Campers learn about character building, good sportsmanship, confidence, sports conditioning, coordination, agility and speed development through positive reinforcement. Sports include soccer, basketball and flag football.

Ages: 5-12. Older siblings may participate as volunteers for high school credit hours.

Cost: $60 per child, $35 for second child and $5 for each additional child.

VBS at The Family Church: Campers travel back in time to the Kingdom Chronicles to learn about standing strong in the battle for truth. Students learn more about the Armor of God in lessons, crafts, snacks, and games.

Ages: 4 years old through completed fifth grade.

Cost: $15 registration fee includes a drawstring bag, water bottle, wristband, souvenir guide, crafts and snacks.

Camp Kulaqua: Campers enjoy a summer filled with fun activities and new friendships in a Christian atmosphere. Kulaqua is located about 20 minutes north of Gainesville, and activities include horseback riding, go-carts, guitar, swimming (on-site water park and natural spring), exotic zoo, BMX, gymnastics, and much more.

Dates: June 2-9, June 9-16 or June 16-23.

Hours: Overnight.

Ages: 7-17.

Montgomery Presbyterian Center Camp: Living in a Christian community, campers are free to be themselves while experiencing new and exciting activities under the direction of staff members who are dedicated to serving Jesus Christ and sharing His love. VBS at First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville: Theme: "Kingdom Rocks!" Enter "Kingdom Rocks" and become empowered to stand strong in God! This heavenly kingdom isn't a medieval fairy tale, it's real and it changes people forever. Daily focus topics include God's love, family and friends, prayer, trusting God and the Bible. Members and non-members are welcome.

Dates: July 15-19.

North Central Baptist Church Summer Program and VBS: Kicking off with a party on June 5, North Central Baptist Church has its Children's Colossal Summer Program 6-7:15 p.m. every Wednesday through July 24. The program includes story time, game time and snack time. Colossal Coaster World Week VBS runs 9 a.m.-noon July 29-Aug. 2, and is free to attend. The week is topped off with Family Night from 6-8:30 p.m. Aug. 4.

Super Kids Summer Camp: Campers participate in weekly activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, cooking projects, swimming lessons, weekly field trips, dance and music.

ACA's Superhero Training Camp: Get ready for an adventure of heroic proportions while learning to be a superhero. The heroes get strong and mighty in the gym and build super-smarts exploring science experiments. Campers design their own super-logos, masks and more to create the perfect superhero secret identity. Heroes also get to play each week in ACA's on-campus splash park. Children are welcome to dress in their favorite superhero costumes. Dates: June 10-Aug. 16. Hours: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with free before and after care from 7 a.m.-9 a.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Ages: 5-10. Cost: $149 per week plus a weekly activity fee ($10-$20).
