Camp 4Ward Gainesville: Camp 4ward is designed for students who experience the daily struggles of social, emotional, and academic frustration in the traditional school setting. Campers have diagnoses that may include ADHD/ADD, Asperger's Syndrome, learning disabilities, emotional disorders, and behavior disorders. The camp is based on four essential goals: social skills, academic achievement, self-esteem and behavior management. A typical camp day includes both an academic and recreational component consisting of a social skill of the day, group activity, reading and math instruction, therapeutic arts/crafts, swimming or team sports, group counseling and positive reinforcement. Each child also has individualized goals and is provided daily feedback.

Dates: June 10-28 (Session 1) and July 8-26 (Session 2).

A.C.G. Friendship Club Summer Camp: Camp offers fun-filled activities that foster increased social interaction and promote the development of friendships and play skills.

Dates: June 17-27 (Session 1) and Aug. 5-15 (Session 2).

Hours: 8:15-11:15 a.m., Monday-Thursday.

Ages: 5 and older.

Cost: $240 per session.

Florida Diabetes Camp: The Florida Diabetes Camp provides camping opportunities at various locations around the state for children with Type 1 diabetes. Activities are designed to meet the specific needs of each age group, but all camps feature traditional land and water activities. Pediatric endocrinologists, nurses and other medical staff are in attendance at each camp to provide on-site diabetes care and age-appropriate diabetes education.

Dates: June 16-21, Pee-Wee (ages 6-8); June 25-29, Tallahassee (ages 7-11); July 28-Aug. 4, Winona 1 (ages 12-14); Aug. 10-17, Winona II (ages 9-12); June 9-14, Fun Sports Camp (ages 15-18); June 24-29, Adventure Camp (ages 15-18).

Cost: $450-$575 depending on the camp. Financial assistance is available.

Camp Boggy Creek: Medical camp in Lake County for children ages 7-16 who suffer from chronic or life-threatening illnesses. The mission of Camp Boggy Creek is to enrich the lives of seriously ill children and their families by creating a life-enhancing camp experience that is exciting, empowering, memorable, safe and medically sound, at no cost to them. Week-long summer sessions and family retreats are available, each week focuses on children with different illnesses.
