Five people were injured Tuesday morning when a semi-tractor trailer collided with a pickup truck on Interstate 75 in Columbia County.
The semi, driven by Timothy Arnold, 32, of Valdosta, Ga., was headed north at 5 a.m. behind a 2001 Ford truck driven by Charles Moore, 39, of Adel, Ga.
At mile marker 410, the pickup was going slower than the semi, and the semi struck it from behind, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The semi jacked knifed, blocking all three northbound lanes of the interstate, the FHP reported. The pickup stopped along the shoulder.
Moore and passengers Corey Sumner, 29 of Sparks, Ga., and Marcial Hernandez, 33, of Adel, were taken to Lake City Medical Center with minor injuries.
Moore’s passengers Willie Clayton, 47, of Adel and Corey Baker, 40, of Sparks, Ga., were taken to Shands at Lake Shore hospital with minor injuries.
