A woman from Trenton was killed and three other people, including an 11-year-old girl and 5-month-old boy, were injured Saturday when an SUV collided with a pickup truck that was towing a tractor on a flatbed trailer, according to a report.
Tara Nicole Bruderly, 28, was driving a 2006 Toyota Highlander north on County Road 347 approaching County Road 346A in Levy County around 5:30 p.m.
At the same time, William Harry Couey, 47, of Trenton was heading east on CR 346A in a 2000 Ford F150 truck towing a flatbed trailer with a large tractor, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Bruderly failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of CR 347 and CR 346A, the FHP reported, and struck the right side of the trailer. The impact dislodged the tractor from the trailer and the tractor struck the left side of the SUV.
The truck’s trailer hitch failed and the trailer dislodged and rotated as it crossed the westbound traffic lane of
CR 346A. The pickup truck went out of control onto the north shoulder then back across both traffic lanes on CR 346A and overturned.
Bruderly was pronounced deceased at the scene, the FHP reported. Kaylee Bruderly, 11, and Alden Bruderly, 5 months, were taken to Shands at the University of Florida.
Couey was taken to North Florida Regional Hospital where he was listed in serious condition, the FHP reported.
