JACKSONVILLE - The Rock boys basketball team won its first state title in school history with a 64-56 victory over Arlington Country Day on Saturday in the Sunshine Independent Athletic Association Tournament finals.

Junior guard Mitchell Wilbekin was named SIAA Tournament MVP and led all scorers with 15 points, fueled by 10-of-13 shooting from the free-throw line.

Wilbekin was one of four scorers to reach double figures for the Lions, including Christian Benzon (11), Glenn Feidanga (10), Pape Diatta (10) and Joel Embiid (10).

Embiid, a Kansas signee, also hauled in a team-high 14 rebounds.

The Rock, which finished third in last year's tournament, closes its season with a 33-4 record.
