The Florida baseball team will be without the services of freshman shortstop Richie Martin for three to four weeks after he broke a finger during Sunday's win over Miami.
Martin's third-inning double extended his team-high hitting streak to 10 games and was the first extra-base hit of his career. Martin had reached base safely in all 12 of the Gators' games this year.
He was taken out of the game in the fourth inning after being hit on the hand by a pitch while attempting to bunt.
The Gators (5-7) begin a home-and-home series with Jacksonville (4-7) at 6 p.m. at John Sessions Stadium today and will host the Dolphins at McKethan Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
