A Gainesville man who is a registered sex offender was arrested Saturday on allegations he exposed himself to an 11-year-old boy.
The alleged incident occurred at a church where the man attended a support group to help sex offenders; the boy is in a youth group at church, according to an Alachua County Sheriff's arrest report.
Justin Trey Hardy, 19, was in a bathroom of The Family Church at 2022 SW 122nd St., on Friday evening, according to the report. Hardy and several youths in the church were playing video games when Hardy asked the victim to go to the bathroom with him.
There, Hardy asked the boy if he wanted to see his private parts and then pulled down his pants, the report said.
The victim told Hardy no and turned away. Hardy then pulled up his pants and told the victim repeatedly not to tell anyone and they both left the restroom, the arrest report states.
The boy told his mother about the incident and she called the sheriff's office. Under police questioning, Hardy said he has “pulled down his pants and showed him it,” the report states.
Hardy was arrested on a charge of lewd and lascivious exhibition to a minor. In 2009, he was arrested on a charge of lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 years old.
