An Alachua County school bus was hit from behind after stopping to let children off on Southwest 75th Street Thursday afternoon, reported the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver who hit the bus did not stop and FHP is investigating the case as a hit-and-run, an FHP press release states.
About 40 children were on the bus but no injuries were reported. The accident occurred about 3:50 p.m. The bus had just let children off and was southbound on 75th when it was hit. The driver of the vehicle that hit the bus continued south on 75th Street without stopping, FHP reported.
