A Hawthorne man was arrested Thursday on allegations he exposed himself to the minor daughter of a friend, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

Roosevelt Allen Douglas II, 32, of 10611 SE 225th Drive, was charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition in connection with an incident that occurred Wednesday, an arrest report states.

Douglas was at the 12-year-old girl's home watching a movie. The girl was sitting on the floor when she noticed that Douglas had exposed himself, the report states.

The girl told police Douglas began masturbating and showed her lewd text messages he had typed into his cellphone, police reported. She went outside, but he followed her.

After he left the home, the girl told police, Douglas called her and told her not to tell anyone what had happened, the report states.

Under police questioning, Douglas said he inadvertently exposed himself because of a hole in his pants and had to touch himself to correct that, police reported. He said he showed the girl a text message he had sent to another person.
