A 42-year-old New Jersey woman has been arrested on charges that she traveled to Gainesville to have sex with a 16-year-old boy, according to a report.
Gainesville police said Lisa Silva of Carteret, N.J, was arrested last week on a warrant from GPD.
Investigators say that in July 2011, the teen met Silva through a third-party Facebook game called YoVille.
That led to numerous phone calls, text messages, emails, letters and three in-person meetings, two of which included sexual intercourse, according to the report.
The sexual encounters appear to have occurred in December of 2011 and February 2012, according to GPD.
The teen detailed the relationship in a statement to investigators. A sworn complaint was completed on Dec. 12, 2012, and a warrant for Silva’s arrest was issued on Feb. 7.
Carteret police officials told GPD that they arrested Silva on Feb. 18 after a traffic stop. Silva later admitted to authorities that she traveled to Gainesville, but she did not admit to any sexual contact, GPD reported.
