A Gainesville man was arrested early Saturday morning on robbery and domestic violence charges on suspicion of forcing his girlfriend into his car, driving her to his home and beating her, according to an arrest report.

Charged was Christopher Michael Hawn, 22, of 1550 SW 47th Terrace, Apt. 1223.

The incident occurred about 12:15 a.m. outside the Butler Plaza movie theaters at 3101 SW 35th Blvd. The report states Hawn drove his car up to the woman and forced her into his car by pulling her hair.

Hawn allegedly drove away while restraining the woman in his car. While driving and after arriving at his home, he reportedly pulled her hair, hit her on the face and choked her, the report states.

Police state Hawn continued battering the woman in the parking lot and tried to pick her up and carry her into the apartment. She screamed and he released her and ran off with her phone and wallet, police said.

The report states that Hawn admitted to forcing the woman into his car, putting his hands around her neck and pulling her hair. He initially denied taking her belongings, but then admitted to that, police said.
