Ricky Kendall is a Gainesville staple. Seriously, if you’ve ever heard him sing or play guitar, or both, then it’s quite difficult to imagine a word without him; and if you’ve never heard him, that’s your loss. Ricky is the kind of guy that will play a packed house at The Atlantic one night, and then turn around and play on the steps of the Hippodrome the night after. If a show needs an opener and you happen to see him walk by, chances are he’ll stop in and dazzle the audience for a half an hour if you ask him to.
Ricky Kendall is the kind of performer who can get in the middle of an awkward audience and sing and stomp until said audience is practically in tears. Soulful, smooth, original; Ricky Kendall has what every musician wants: talent.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of witnessing Ricky pour his heart out, then Sunday is your chance. He performs with some fellow musician friends that will be helping make the experience all the more deeper, along with alt-folk-rockers Company Man and Chris Staples, at The Atlantic, starting at 8 p.m.
