The Gainesville City Commission vote to purchase a city block on South Main Street as the future site for the downtown fire station was delayed Thursday.

City Manager Russ Blackburn said the City Attorney's Office requested the delay to revise some language in the contracts to purchase the two parcels that make up the block.

Currently, the combined price for the properties is $1.045 million.

The vote on the contracts has not yet been rescheduled for a future commission meeting.
