Erin Maynard, an assistant coach at P.K. Yonge for two years and former standout setter at Gainesville High, has been named new volleyball coach at Eastside, athletic director Mike Monaghan announced Thursday.
She replaces Josh Crow, who resigned earlier this year. Maynard is the daughter of current GHS coach Eddie Maynard, who left Eastside two years ago to replace legendary Hurricanes coach Cindy Boulware.
“I'm very excited,” said Erin Maynard, 21. “I can remember playing against Eastside when I was in high school. They were huge rivals back then, and I want to bring it back to that standard like the other high schools in Gainesville.”
Erin Maynard is also a volleyball coach at Gainesville Athletic Club, where her dad is the director.
