Incorporated in 1989, The Alachua County Library District Foundation is a not-for-profit organization with a purpose to support and to provide supplemental funding with an emphasis on long-term support and planned giving. Katherine’s Tree, a 10-foot etched-glass rendition of the Tree of Knowledge, located at the Headquarters library, is one way the foundation raises funds. With a contribution of at least $2,000, a name can be etched on a leaf on Katherine’s Tree for a lasting visible recognition.
