A Jacksonville man already in custody for one Gainesville robbery was charged with another one Wednesday for his suspected role in a Jan. 21 case in Gainesville, police reported.

Rajheem K. Roddey, 18, was charged with unarmed robbery and fraud, according to his arrest report.

Roddey is accused of being in a group of people who robbed a man while he was walking in the 1700 block of Northwest First Avenue at about 2 a.m. The victim told police he was followed by some people he had previously met in a bar. They asked him for his wallet and his bank PIN, and he complied. Several unauthorized transactions were later made on his bank account, including one in Jacksonville.

Roddey was initially arrested Jan. 29 when the victim of a Jan. 22 robbery called police after seeing some of the men who had robbed him. Roddey was charged then in that case and was later identified as a suspect in the Jan. 21 case.
