Lots of rain as cold weather moves in

Lots of rain is expected today and tonight as a new spate of cold weather moves in.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a 70 percent chance of rain today and is warning that some of the wet stuff could be heavy. It will continue into the night before clearing out tomorrow.

Today A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Areas of fog before 8am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 76. Windy, with a south wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Tonight Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers between 9pm and 3am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 50. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Thursday Partly sunny, with a high near 67. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

Thursday Night A 20 percent chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Light north wind.

Friday A 20 percent chance of showers before 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Friday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 43.

Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

Saturday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 34.

Sunday Sunny, with a high near 56.

Sunday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 28.
