Area firm selected to be member of Business-Critical SharePoint Partner Program

James Moore, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants announced that its firm was selected by Microsoft to be a member of the Business-Critical SharePoint Partner Program, which consists of leading Microsoft partners worldwide that provide technology and expertise to help customers surface line-of-business data in SharePoint, implement efficient business processes and drive cross-team collaboration.
Mary-Ellen Cross was one of 23 lawyers who was recognized during a recent special ceremony at the Florida Supreme Court for freely giving their time and expertise in making legal services available to the poor. Cross, a sole practitioner in Gainesville, serves pro bono clients referred through Three Rivers Legal Services Inc. as well as through her own office.
After three years at its previous location, Take Away Gourmet Inc. relocated to 3550 SW 34th St., Suite M, in November 2012. On Tuesday, the company held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration.
Matt Hunter was recently named creative services director for WCJB TV20. Hunter, who most recently served as president and owner of Glory Road Media, has over 16 years of experience in the television advertising industry as a producer and media buyer. In addition, The JAG Agency, an advertising agency based in Alachua, has acquired the marketing and media buying division of Glory Road Media.
Kendall Spencer was recently elected executive vice president and senior commercial banker by the board of directors of Florida Citizens Bank. Spencer, a UF graduate, has held various banking positions throughout Florida. Most recently, he consulted and worked with several banks on projects and provided litigation support as a bank expert in lending-liability lawsuits.
The Warrington College of Business Administration recently announced the addition of Dr. Michael H. Morris to its faculty. Morris has been appointed as the George and Lisa Etheridge Professor of Entrepreneurship and Clinical Professor, and will serve as academic director of the entrepreneurship program beginning in August 2013. Morris was most recently the N. Malone Mitchell Chair in Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University, where he established the first school of entrepreneurship at a major U.S. research university.
Dillard's Inc. announced that it presented a check for $8,088 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Gainesville as part of a $1.2 million overall contribution to local chapters of the charity organization.
Sandvik Alachua recently celebrated the manufacture and sale of 100 DR500-series drill rigs. Sandvik Mining purchased the rights to the series of surface drills from Cubex in 2010 and since has sold more of the rigs than sold previously in the lifetime of the product family.
Eng, Denman and Associates Inc. recently announced that partner David Denman, after close to four decades as a principal of the company, sold his interest to partner Sergio Reyes. The company will be renamed EDA Inc., maintaining the initials of the founding partners. The local civil engineering, land surveying and land planning services company is also adding a general vertical construction division to its portfolio and a general construction department.
