A man who worked at Kohl's department store in southwest Gainesville was arrested Friday and charged with stealing items from the store.
According to the Gainesville Police Department, Sean Mychal Saunders, 24, of 3006 NW 23rd Terrace in Gainesville, was charged with grand theft after police say loss prevention officers at the store witnessed Saunders steal items from the store between Feb. 4 and Feb. 8.
During this time, police said Saunders was observed selecting items and taking them to a fitting room. Saunders would then go to the store's break room, put on his jacket and go back to the fitting room, where he would place items under the jacket and them take them to his car, police said.
After seeing this occur on more than one occasion, the store's officer confronted Saunders, police said, and Saunders admitted to taking at least $494 in merchandise.
