SCHOOL: Union County
POSITION: Point guard
JERSEY NUMBER: 3
WEIGHT: 160 pounds
Area basketball player I would pay to watch play: Marquez Marshall from Columbia High. He is just a freak of nature, and has an incredible leaping ability. He can really do it all.
Best team in the area and you can't say Union County: Probably Fort White. They have athletes at every position, like to run up and down the court, and they can shoot.
Coach Rufus Jefferson's best words of advice for me: “Stay focus and play your game.”
Dinner on an ideal night in Lake Butler: At China 1, shrimp fried rice with chicken wings.
ESPN's best program: “30 for 30.”
Favorite type of music: Christian rap, mostly listen to Lecrae.
Getting back to the Final Four will take ... Better defense. We have to be more enthusiastic about playing defense. The team with the best defense usually wins.
Happiest day of my life? Me and my girlfriend's first kiss after five years. We started dating in 8th grade. I had to wait for it because she was really shy.
Interesting thing about me away from basketball: I like to read and write poetry. I've been doing that since 8th grade.
Joker on the team: Princeton Alexander. No matter what you do or what you say, he will make a joke about it. He is always mocking coach Jefferson.
Kobe Bryant or LeBron James? LeBron James, of course. He has the ability to do it all — he can pass, he can shoot, he plays great defense. He is the best.
Least favorite Union County basketball moment: Losing in the Final Four to Hawthorne last season. It was probably the toughest thing I have had to go through. That year we went through so much adversity to get there. Now we have a big target on our back to get back to the Final Four.
My favorite hangout spot in Lake Butler is ... For me it is the gym.
One person in my life who inspires me most: Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens because of his love for the game. Over his 17-year career, he showed how much he truly loves the game. That's how I want to be when I get older, hopefully.
Potential college major: Mechanical engineering.
Quickest person I have had to guard: Probably Brian Walton of Bradford.
Reading the newspaper or going online to get my high school sports coverage: Reading it in the newspaper.
Superstition I have: While “The Star-Spangled Banner” is being played before every game, I pray. I feel we have a better chance if I pray.
Toughest drill in practice: There is a drill when we take charges, then we have to dive for a loose ball and score while being fouled by a dummy bag. That drill is used to get us tougher.
Universities or colleges I am considering: Right now any university.
Vacation spot I love: St. Augustine Beach.
What area players would I want to see in a four person one-on-one tournament and how it would go? It would be me, Brian Walton, Marquez Marshall and Deantre Burch (Bradford). Marquez would play Deantre, and Deantre would lose 11-6; I would play Brian and win 11-9; then I would play Marquez and win 11-10.
Xbox, PlayStation or Wii?: Xbox. “NBA 2K13.”
Year I was born: 1995.
Zoo animal I like most: Cheetah, because it is the fastest animal.
