More than 40 men and women braved very chilly weather to attend the Rosa Parks 100th birthday celebration held Monday at the Rosa Parks RTS Downtown Station in Gainesville and sponsored by the Rosa Parks Quiet Courage Committee of Gainesville. Parks, the mother of the modern civil rights movement, was celebrated with prayer, songs, readings, a flower tribute, speakers and, of course, a birthday cake.
