The deadline to register for March’s city elections is Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Voters may register at the Supervisor of Elections office, 111 SE First Ave. An online application form is available at www.VoteAlachua.com. That form may be completed, printed, signed and returned to the Supervisor’s office.
The offices of mayor and District 4 city commissioner are on the ballot for the March 19 election. There is also a referendum on a charter amendment that would move city elections to the fall of odd years and extend terms from three to four years.
All registered voters living in the Gainesville city limits are eligible to vote in the mayoral race. Only registered voters living in District 4 may vote in that race.
To determine if you live in District 4, go to www.VoteAlachua.com and click “Maps” on the menu on the left side or click on the “My Voter Information Page” icon in the upper right corner of the website.
The Supervisor of Elections Office will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. to accept voter registration applications. The office also has an after-hours mail drop box at the main entrance. Voter registration applications received via the mail drop will be accepted up until midnight on the 19th.
For additional information, including other locations in the county where voter registration application forms are available, please go to www.voteAlachua.com or call the Supervisor of Elections Office at (352) 374-5252.
