Larson appointed to another term on regulatory committee

Janet Larson, a member of the SunState Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, has recently been appointed to serve a second consecutive two-year term on the Regulatory Committee of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions. Larson is one of 25 members of this committee serving from around the United States. Locally, Larson serves as a director on the board of Peaceful Paths.

A Bridal Boutique, located at 3501 SW Second Ave., Creekside Mall (the spot previously occupied by Jay's Bridal), and owned by Jeanel Coullias and Andrea Stivender, recently held its grand opening. Coullias and Stivender have been in the event industry in Gainesville for more than 35 years. They previously owned Savannah Grande and currently own and operate The Grande Event.

Trust Across America recognized John Spence, author and business improvement expert, as one of its Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior for the third time. Spence has presented workshops, speeches and executive coaching to more than 300 organizations worldwide.

Mike Kitchens, president of Coldwell Banker M.M. Parrish, recently announced that Ralph and Bonnie Cameron finished 2012 as the top residential sales team for closed residential sales volume in Gainesville and Alachua County for the second consecutive year.

Causseaux, Hewett & Walpole Inc. recently announced the addition of Kevin S. Hebert as senior project manager.

Hebert, a University of Florida graduate with a bachelor's in civil engineering and a bachelor's in physics from Jacksonville University, has 14 years of experience managing various engineering projects, with a strong emphasis on permitting and land development.

Frankel Media Group recently announced its acquisition of Primary Color Advertising Design, headed by Jim and Jeannette Baer. The acquisition includes Primary Color's clients, resources and national network.

Jeannette Baer, who serves as the social media consultant for the University of Florida Career Resource Center and teaches Social Media Strategies at Santa Fe College, Center of Innovation and Economic Development, has joined Frankel Media Group.

Baer is currently an officer on the Board of Directors for the Advertising Federation of Gainesville and PACE Center for Girls and brings more than 25 years of experience to the company.

The media group also recently announced two more new team members: Suzanne Bachus, business development director, and Robert Hedges, associate creative director. Bachus has more than 25 years of experience in advertising and has served as project manager on numerous advertising, public education and social issue campaigns. Hedges is an award-winning creative director and designer with more than 20 years of advertising agency experience working on both national and international brands.

Community Housing Partners recently recognized Dr. John Banks, Horizon House and Sunset Apartments' resident services coordinator, as one of five to be named as Community Housing Partners' 2012 Employees of the Year.

Satchel's recently announced that in 2012 it donated $12,969 from its ATM fund to a variety of causes and charitable organizations, including Bread of the Mighty Food Bank, The Doris Bardon Community Cultural Center and Helping Hands Outreach Ministries.

The Hough Graduate School of Business had nine of its programs rank in the top 20 among U.S. public universities, seven of which placed in the top 10, in Eduniversal's Best Masters Rankings 2012-13.

The Thomas S. Johnson Master of Science in Entrepreneurship Program was ranked 30th in the world, eighth among U.S. universities and third among U.S. public universities. Other Hough programs to finish in the top 10 among U.S. public universities were: Master of Science in Management, fourth; Master of Arts in International Business, fourth; Master of Accounting, ninth; Master of Science in Marketing, ninth; Master of Arts in Economics, 10th; and Full-time MBA, 10th.
