POSITION: Point guard
Area girls basketball player I would pay to watch play: Jessica Thomas of Buchholz. She is one of the best point guards in Alachua County.
Best movie I’ve ever seen? “Coach Carter.” It was a good movie.
Coach Ray Parrish’s best words of advice for me: “Don’t be a follower. Be a leader.”
Dinner on an ideal night: Bacon burger and fries from Outback (Steakhouse).
Easiest class or part of the school day: Culinary arts, because you have no work.
Favorite thing about living in the Newberry/Archer area: I like living in the country setting. We don’t have many close neighbors, and it’s real peaceful at night.
Game winning 3-pointer or drive to the basket or delivering a nice pass that leads to the winning basket: Drive to the basket.
Hoisting the national championship trophy at the end of the men’s and women’s college basketball season will be ... I think Florida in the guys will go all the way. They are doing really good. For the girls, I think Baylor, with Brittney Griner, will win it again.
Interesting thing about me away from basketball: I run track and I like to hang out with friends.
Joker on the team: Me. I keep everybody laughing. Just silly stuff.
Kobe Bryant or LeBron James? LeBron. He’s just better.
Losing the state title game to Ponce De Leon last year, after rallying from 23 points down, was ... Painful, but we kind of made history.
Note: In 2012, Newberry advanced to the state finals for the first time in school history in girls basketball.
My favorite memory playing basketball at Newberry High: Making the shot to force overtime in the district championship my sophomore year against Suwannee. We ended up winning it.
Nickname: They call me Tay.
One person in my life who inspires me most: Coach Ray. He is more than a coach, he’s a friend. He helps me with my school work.
Potential college major: Dental hygienist.
Quiet time activity: Listening to music.
Reading newspapers or browsing the Internet to get my high school sports information? I do both.
Superstition I have: I don’t like splitting poles. Like when you are walking to a flagpole and you walk on the side to get around it, you have to come back to the middle. That is bad luck.
Twitter or Facebook page status post? Facebook, but not on a lot. Don’t have a Twitter account.
Universities or colleges considering: UCF and Santa Fe College.
Vacation spot I love: Orlando.
Winning a state semifinal for the first time in school history last year, what is the goal this season? To win state. I think we can do it. Note: Newberry opens District 7-1A tournament play on Friday in Chiefland.
Xbox, PlayStation or Wii? Xbox 360, like “Call of Duty: Black Ops.”
Year I was born: 1993.
Zoo animal I like most: Lion, because he is the king of the jungle.
