Now that orange trees are blossoming, azaleas are in full bloom and some trees are leafing out, a freeze is expected tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
The cold front that pushed in overnight will bring a sharp contrast to the mild weather of late with today's high expected to be just 62 and tonight's low 30 degrees in the Alachua County area. A fire watch has been issued for parts of the region because of expected gusty winds and low humidity.
