Terence Pollard, author of "Have You Been Broken Yet?," will have a book signing event. It will be held from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 6 at The Library Partnership at 1130 NE 16th Ave.
Pollard of Gainesville will sign copies of the book, which is a compilation of stories about his many life challenges and experiences.

First Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Rev. Eugene Gainey Day.
It will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 10 at the church at 1515 SE 15th St.
The speaker will be the Rev. Jake Davis of Springhill Baptist Church.
Miracle Word of Faith Ministries Inc. in Gainesville will host its annual Women Overcoming Issues conference.
It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Community Revival Center at 244 NE Patterson St. in Lake City. The theme is "Women, Why You Tripping? Just Believe God!" The registration fee is $10 and the attire is casual. Lunch will be served at noon.

Spirit of Faith Christian Center will host Financial Peace University.
The eight-week course will be held at 6 p.m. on Sundays beginning Feb. 10 at the Spirit of Faith East Campus at 1414 NE 23rd Ave. The cost is $100, and the deadline to register is Sunday.
The 90-minute sessions will include video presentations featuring David Ramsey, founder of Financial Peace, and small group discussions focusing on living debt free, developing a savings plan and building wealth.

Showers of Blessings Harvest Center and Judah Praise Dance Ministry will host the "Loving Yourself Valentine's Ball."
It will be held from 6-9 p.m Friday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church at 2505 NE 8th Ave. Tickets will be $5 for grades K-5, $7 for grades 6-12 and $10 for adults.
The event is for school-aged children, but adults are welcome.

The Female Protective Society will present its first ever Black History Legacy program.
It will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the temple at 12610 NW 39th Ave. The theme will be "From 1903-2013: African American Women Triumphing Onward."
The program will honor temple members who are 80 and older and pay tribute to past Female Protective chiefs by displaying their biographies and photos
Also, black women in Alachua County will be recognized for the significant contributions they have made to the county and surrounding counties.
The Micanopy Tour Group will present a concert featuring Lee Williams and The Spiritual QCs of Tupelo, Miss.
It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Paramount Plaza Hotel at 2900 SW 13th St. Tickets are $22 in advance and $27 at the door.
Featured also will be Lil' Johnny & the Gospel Wonders of Ocala and Tirvarrus & God's Project A New Beginning, also of Tupelo.
