The remains of an 18-year-old woman were found by a local hunter in the woods east of Otter Creek in Levy County on Friday.

An autopsy conducted Saturday confirmed that the remains matched the description of missing person Deanna Lee Stires.

Stires was a Hernando County resident who was reported missing on Jan. 1.

The time and cause of Lee’s death have not yet been determined but are under investigation by both the Hernando and Levy County Sheriff’s Offices, officials said Sunday.
