Wealth redistribution is immoral! Democrats steal from the middle class and give to the poor while neoconservative Republicans steal from the poor and middle class and give to the wealthy. Government should not be involved in commerce and definitely should not be picking winners and losers. The economy is a closed system with a finite amount of investment capital. What new ventures will not occur when one sector is taxed to subsidize another? The tax burden is shifted to the remainder of the citizens that are already suffering under high taxation. Government will not reduce the plunder of established residents to subsidize the wealthy; their monetary gift to outside corporations is stolen from the people. This discourages competition from new start-up companies that will not benefit from this immoral government largesse. Monopolistic capitalism which is not much different from socialism occurs when small oligarchies control capital with force of government. These corrupt elected oligarchies are not smart enough to predict the many economic variables and the economic meddling often produces failures at an enormous cost to the market.
This is not free-market capitalism! The best way to stimulate commerce is for government to get out of the way.
With a good climate and no state income tax, North Florida is a great place to locate a business. The problem is Alachua County has the highest taxes in the state and the tax burden is inequitable. The beautiful people are exempted. Voters should remove from office any official that supports such activity to include Rick Scott and locally Lee Pinkoson and Susan Baird. Susan Baird agreed in writing that she would not support corporate welfare prior to her election. Mike Byerly is right on this issue!
