Dove World Outreach Center pastor Terry Jones was given a citation for illegal burning Saturday when he set afire effigies of President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton outside the church in northwest Gainesville.

Gainesville Fire Rescue Chief Gene Prince said the citation for outside burning was Jones' second, doubling the usual fine to $500. Jones was previously cited in April, when he burned copies of the Quran.

On Saturday, Jones held an event with several speakers on church property at 5805 NW 37th St. The effigies were torched to end the rally.

Prince said an accelerant, possibly diesel fuel, was used to ignite the effigies. Prince said that a third offense will result in a notice to appear in court.
