Things to look out for this week in SEC basketball.
No. 17 Missouri and No. 10 Florida will meet for the first time ever in men's college basketball on Saturday afternoon at the O'Connell Center. The matchup between the only two ranked teams in the Southeastern Conference will feature offense against defense. Florida leads the SEC in scoring defense, while Mizzou is fourth in the league in scoring offense at 77 ppg.
On the road
After two straight games at Rupp Arena, Kentucky (11-5, 2-1 SEC) travels to Auburn for a prime-time showdown. Auburn (8-8, 2-1 SEC) took Arkansas to two overtimes before falling 88-80 and has an experienced team. But Kentucky has more talent and showed in its 75-65 win over Tennessee that it is starting to figure out how to close out games.
Tennessee is off to an 0-3 start in SEC play, not what many envisioned after UT's strong finish in league play last season. The Volunteers, desperate for a conference victory, have a good shot getting off the schneid Saturday at home against a rebuilding Mississippi State program.
