Police are looking for a man suspected of committing several vehicle burglaries in Alachua County.

“He is possibly riding a bicycle and has been seen each time carrying the same black single shoulder book bag,” Gainesville Police Department spokesman Officer Ben Tobias said of the suspect they are hunting. “The suspect will obtain credit cards by breaking into unlocked vehicles and then attempt to use the cards at area stores.”

Tobias reminded car owners to lock vehicles and remove belongings every time they leave the vehicle. Police have released two photographs of the suspect and are asking for help in identifying him.

If you have any information about the suspect, Tobias said, contact dispatch at 955-1818 or text “GPDFL” plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
