Santa Fe College will host the Rev. Joan Brown Campbell, an international religious figure in interfaith understanding, who will deliver a speech Friday night on understanding all cultures and faiths.

The free event starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Hall.

According to a news release, the event will focus on the "Charter of Compassion," which Campbell co-created and is meant to encourage tolerance across the religious, moral and political spectrum.

SF College President Jackson Sasser will publicly sign the charter on behalf of the college.

Campbell is currently the chair of the Global Women's Peace Initiative and the National Religious Partnership for the Environment. She has served as a member of the U.S. State Department's advisory committee on religious freedom abroad.
