A fire in Levy County is being monitored this morning for smoke and fog by the Florida Highway Patrol, which is urging motorists to be cautious.
The fire is in the vicinity of county roads 345 and 336 along with Northwest 45th Street, according to an FHP news release. The fire is in a 40-acre field with wood piles that are part of a controlled burn.
Smoke warning signs have been posted in the area. FHP said visibility could deteriorate quickly from smoke and fog conditions, especially during night and early morning hours.
Drivers should slow down and use low-beam headlights.
