The wet, cool weather that blanketed Gainesville and North Central Florida on Thursday is forecast to return this weekend -- with cloudy and rainy conditions expected to arrive Saturday and last through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

While only isolated showers are in the forecast for Friday, the weather service said cloudiness will likely return Friday night, with rainy and cloudy conditions likely Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday.

From Friday through Monday, the days will be mild, with highs in the mid-60s. Nights will be chilly, with lows forecast to be in the low to mid-40s.

The inclement weekend weather is expected to clear out by Monday, with sunny conditions forecast through Wednesday, with highs warming up to the mid-70s by Wednesday. Lows Monday and Tuesday should be in the mid-40s, warming up to almost 50 by Wednesday night.
