Motorists in Suwannee County are being advised to be cautious in an area of Branford on State Road 247 where smoke from a prescribed fire could create hazardous conditions, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP issued a press release early Friday morning stating that it is monitoring the area and placed warning signs in the vicinity. The fire is out but a few hot spots remain. Visibility may deteriorate quickly due to smoke/fog type conditions, especially during the night time and early morning hours, FHP stated.

Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed and utilize low beam headlights to adapt to changing weather conditions.
