A Union County man was killed Thursday when he lost control of his pickup truck and overturned multiple times, throwing him from the cab, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Dead is Mack Thomas Short, 57, FHP stated in a news release.
The accident happened about 4:42 p.m. at the intersection of State Roads 121 and 100 in Union County.
Short was driving a 1994 Toyota pickup south on SR 121 at the ramp to westbound SR 100 when, for undetermined reasons, he drove off the road onto the left grass shoulder, FHP reported.
Short used an abrupt steering action to the left, causing him to lose control. He rotated counterclockwise and began to travel sideways before overturning multiple times.
FHP reported that Short, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected from the truck.
