MICANOPY — A truck driver is in serious condition after the 18-wheeler he was driving lost control and overturned numerous times along Interstate 75 early Christmas morning.

The 3:10 a.m. accident blocked the inside and center lanes of both the northbound and southbound sides of the busy interstate, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

The driver, Dewayne Felder, of Decatur, Ga., was driving south in the outside lane near mile marker 370, about 20 miles north of Ocala near Micanopy.

After the 2003 Freightliner tractor veered onto the shoulder, Felder overcorrected, causing the truck to rotate clockwise and overturn numerous times.

Felder was taken to Shands at University of Florida in Gainesville, where he is listed in serious condition.
