A man with a handgun robbed a Columbia County convenience store of an undetermined amount of cash Saturday morning, reported sheriff's Sgt. Ed Seifert.

Robbed about 7:15 a.m. was the Stop and Go Food Store located on State Road 47 just south of Interstate 75, Seifert said in a press release.

The culprit demanded money from the clerk and fled the store after receiving cash.

Seifert described the robber as black, 6-feet-tall with a thin to medium build. He wore dark pants, a white T-shirt under a gray hooded sweatshirt and light Nike sneakers. He also wore a black ski mask over his face.

The robber got into the passenger side of a light green minivan that was last seen traveling south on SR 47.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Columbia County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers of Columbia County at 386-754-7099. Callers to Crime Stoppers will always remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
