A Gainesville woman was arrested Friday night after she was reportedly driving impaired with her autistic son in the car, according to an arrest report.
Jamie Dianne Smith, 51, of 1534 SE 41st Ave., was charged by Gainesville police with DUI and child abuse.
The incident occurred about 7 p.m. at 1800 Waldo Road after an officer spotted a white pickup truck driven by Smith cross the median and travel in a lane of oncoming traffic before crossing back over, the report states.
Smith was pulled over, given a field sobriety test and a breath test, registering a .309. The legal standard in Florida is .08.
The report states that Smith was holding onto her 15-year-old autistic son when she lost balance, with both of them falling to the ground.
