Man robs bank in Lake Butler

Lake Butler bank Friday afternoon, sheriff’s Lt. Lyn Williams said.

The robbery occurred about 4:15 p.m. at the Community State Bank at 255 SE 6th St. The man passed a note to the teller demanding money, Williams said. The teller gave him a small amount of cash and he fled, possibly in a car, Williams added.

Witnesses describe the man as white, about 50 years old, 6 feet tall with a slim build. He has a beard and was wearing a light-colored, buttoned shirt and a baseball cap.

Williams said the man did not show a weapon during the robbery.
