Man robbed of wallet in southwest Gainesville

An armed robbery occurred Tuesday night in southwest Gainesville when a man with a handgun demanded money from another man walking on a street, police reported.

The incident occurred about 10:38 p.m. at 300 SW 10th St., Gainesville Police Department Lt. Mike Schibuola said. The victim was walking when the culprit came up to him with a gun and demanded money. The victim gave him his wallet, and the culprit fled. No one was hurt.

The culprit was described as white with a thin build and a pale complexion. He was 20 to 26 years old, 5-feet-10-inches to 6 feet tall and wore a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

No arrests had been made by Wednesday afternoon.
