Class 6A No. 1 Gainesville, which will play at No. 10 Navarre in the state semifinals this Friday, is getting some national attention following its 42-10 rout of Seffner Armwood last week.

The Hurricanes (13-0) are ranked No. 16 nationally in ESPN's 25 Football Power Rankings this week and No. 25 nationally in MaxPreps Xcellent 25 rankings. Class 7A No. 1 Bradenton Manatee is ranked No. 1 nationally in both polls.

A victory Friday would put Gainesville in the state finals for only the second time in 32 years. The Hurricanes won the Class 3A state title in 1980. Navarre (12-1), which is looking for its first state final, upset No. 5 Columbia Friday 28-21 in the Region 1 finals.
